Why It’s “Rapid” HD

72% Faster Iteration

Standard 3D materials often require extra post-processing steps, such as silanization or surface coatings, before the 3D printed mold is suitable for PDMS casting. Rapid HD eliminates these extra steps. PDMS can be cast directly into the mold without the need for silanization or release agents, then cured in a lab oven at 100°C (212°F) for just 1 hour, making the process up to 72% faster compared to standard materials. The result is reduced risk of PDMS device damage, no cytotoxic leaching, and preservation of the mold’s quality for repeated use.

Smooth PDMS removal from the mold

The Problem

What is Meniscus Effect?

During printing, most 3D materials form a meniscus that pulls resin into corners. Once cured, that distortion alters geometry and flow.

Our Solution

Rapid HD changes that.

Its formulation drastically reduces the meniscus effect. You get sharper edges, cleaner details, and molds that stay true to your design.

Why it matters?

Minimal meniscus means maximum accuracy — essential for researchers who rely on precise flow and high-resolution features.

Ultra-smooth. Ultra-precise.

Rapid HD delivers a surface finish with an Ra value of just 0.18µm. This smoothness facilitates easy demolding of cast PDMS devices, preserves fine, intricate details, and enables strong, tight-seal bonding to substrates.

Standard 3D Material

Rapid HD

Made to Reuse.

3D printed master molds withstand the high heat of a standard lab oven without losing precision. With the proper care, one mold can cast many PDMS devices.

4 Simple Steps

Create master molds at Benchside in 1 day.

01 – CAD

Create your master mold using a CAD software.

No CAD Experience? We have a solution.

02 – Pour

Pour the specialized Rapid HD 3D material in the VAT, and put it in the printer.

03 – Print

Print your master mold with confidence, using the Rapid HD and a CADworks3D printer.

04 – Clean

Post-processing involves a quick and easy cleaning and curing the master mold.

Applications

Master Mold for PDMS – Rapid HD makes it easy to 3D print high-resolution molds for microfluidic devices. Its smooth surface helps PDMS peel off cleanly and bond securely to your chosen substrate, perfect for fast, reliable mold fabrication with great detail.
