Master Mold for PDMS - Rapid HD

PHOTOPOLYMER RESIN

THE CAPABILITIES ARE UNIQUELY ENABLED BY THE PROFLUIDICS 285D AND ARE FULLY COMPATIBLE ONLY WITH THIS SYSTEM.

Minimal Meniscus Effect

During 3D printing, standard 3D materials form a concave meniscus, where resin readily fills and adheres to corners and fine features of a mold. Once cured, this distorts the final geometry and reduces flow precision.

The Master Mold PDMS – Rapid HD significantly reduces the meniscus effect, enabling sharper details and molds that are accurate to the intended design. Ideal for researchers who require high-resolution 3D printed molds.

72% Faster Iteration

Standard 3D materials often require extra post-processing steps, such as silanization or surface coatings, before the 3D printed mold is suitable for PDMS casting.

Rapid HD eliminates these extra steps. PDMS can be cast directly into the mold without the need for silanization or release agents, then cured in a lab oven at 100°C (212°F) for just 1 hour, making the process up to 72% faster compared to standard materials.

The result is reduced risk of PDMS device damage, no cytotoxic leaching, and preservation of the mold’s quality for repeated use.

Smooth PDMS removal from the mold

0.18µm Ra Value

Rapid HD produces an exceptionally smooth surface finish, with a Ra value of 0.18µm. This smoothness facilitates easy demolding of cast PDMS devices, preserves fine intricate details, and enables strong, tight-seal bonding to substrates.

Mold Durability & Reusability

3D printed master molds can endure the high temperatures of a standard lab oven without losing detailed features. With proper post-processing and care, a single mold can be reused to cast multiple PDMS devices.
